Claudy Jongstra voor Tianjiashan paviljoen in China

Voor het Tianjiashan paviljoen dat momenteel in aanbouw is, gaat Claudy Jongstra meer dan 90 unieke kunstwerken maken. Haar werk zal geplaatst worden tussen glazen panelen dat de centrale ovale binnenruimte omsluit.

De centrale ruimte ontsluit de 4 vleugels van het paviljoen, waarbij elke vleugel refereert naar een van de 4 windrichtingen en seizoenen met bijpassende kleuren. De kunstwerken zullen dit versterken in kleur en textuur waar studio Claudy Jongstra haar eigen invulling aan geeft.

For the Tianjiashan pavilion, in Liyang China, with an artistic manifestation of ecological balance, Studio Claudy Jongstra was commissioned by AchterboschZantman architecten international to create over 90 unique artwork panels. The panels will be installed between panes of glass, which wrap the pavilion’s rounded central core to form a panoramic mural. The complete artwork represents the four seasonal wind directions and their corresponding colors – northern winter, blue; eastern spring, green; southern summer, yellow; and western autumn, orange. Each seasonal wind is represented with painterly strokes of biodynamic plant-pigment dyed natural fibers. Masterfully developed and composed in Jongstra’s studio, the visual language of the artwork refers to the delicate gesture and texture found in artworks of Dai Benxiao of Liyang and Zhang Gong’s Grotto of Lake Tal, Jiangsu.
