Bicycle road Sneek

Part of the large infrastructural project, Rijksweg A7 Sneek, is the bicycle-road. Reasons as a bicycle road and the lack of space resulted in a solution: a combination of a road and a bridge. A new bicycle-bridge and the existing tunnel are combined.
Partly preserving the existing connection between the quarters Tinga and Lemmerweg West, offers the cyclist a save and good route. The other part is redesigned.
Like the wooden bridge, the bisycleroute crosses the water. On base of the drawings delivered by the municipality Sneek and Grontmij, OAK conceived the assignment to design the total route. The bicycle road wanders from Lemmerweg West over the water and underneath the wooden bridge and the A7 in the direction of Tinga. The design is made in respect of the wooden bridges. For the bicycle bridge is chosen for a version in concrete. The bridge also flows away from the wooden bridge, this way the bridge gets its own dimension and identity. The space between both bridges makes contact with and sight on the water possible.
