In the center of a postwar quarter in Sneek, on the former location of a school, a compact home care building had to rise. In commission of Foundation Philadelphia Zorg we designed with very intensive ‘Feel Good’-sessions. The result is a harmonious building with apartments round a light atrium. These spaces from both literally and figuratively the connection with the neighborhood. Here we can find the entrance and the warm wooden cladding is used inside and outside the building. This transition is introduced by a good collaboration with the interior architect. The building is very compact. This suits the new residents with a light mental disability. The home care is organized very efficient, organized and the distances are short from the central atrium. This typology reduces the exploitation costs.
